My name is
Sean Reed. I play the flute and have done so for the past three
years in the band. Last year I was co-section leader of the woodwind
section and prior to that I was a marcher. This is now my fourth
year and I will be acting as the drum major.
From the first time I saw the
band perform I knew I wanted to be the drum major. I was in my 7th
grade year at Andrew
Jackson Middle School. The way that the drum major moved and the
power and ellegance he carried was stunning and has had a lasting
effect on me and obtaining this position has been my goal ever
since.
To me being a drum major is many
things. You must be a teacher, a leader, a showman, a conductor, but
above all else a good listener, friend, and follower. It is my goal
to be all of these things and more for the band and all of its
members. Music is my life and has always been and always will be my
passion. So with all of these things in mind I go into my final year
of band with my head held high knowing it will the greatest year of
my life thus far.
